Ric Down Under

I'll be in beautiful Sydney Australia (is there another Sydney in the world?) next Friday (17 April) at the Sydney Meetup doing a presentation on using Oracle Trace data to tune SQL.

Tanel Põder will be there as well doing his "No Slides" gig. I saw this at the Hotsos Symposium this year, and it's a presentation not to be missed. I'm glad that I'll be able to see it twice; hopefully, I can fill in the gaps in my notes from the first go.

Stop by and have some great Oracle training and some beer and Pizza with other Oracle geeks!

Ric,

Per Gary's recommendation, don't miss this little restaurant; it's one of the most beautiful views in the world, especially at night:

Indian Empire
5 Walker St and cnr Lavender St
North Sydney NSW
+61 (02) 9923 2909

It's just north of the Harbour Bridge about half a block north of The Rest hotel and then a block or so left down Lavender Street. There's a liquor store nearby where you can grab a bag of beers to intensify the very hot vindaloo. Stop in the little park there on your walk back, and watch the huge fruit bats coast around (my wife loved it for as long as she thought they were just really big, really quiet birds).

Thanks Cary! From the sound of things there are many great places to eat there and it's always best to have a personal recommendation. The bats would be cool to see to. When I've been to Austin TX the place I've stayed most often is near a bat cave, the first time I saw them coming out I thought it was smoke! As I got closer I could see that it was bats. More bats, less bugs!

Ric,

Thanks for coming over to the meetup and your wonderful presentation. You and Tanel have made it an absolute success and we had about 40 attendees which twice as much than at our first Meetup.

Sorry that the day are turning wet now but I hope you managed to have a dip while it was sunny all those days.

Anyway, see you later this week...

Cheers,
Alex

And big thanks to Hotsos for being a special sponsor for beer and pizza at this meetup!
